Cohana - Quality handmade tools from local industry and crafts
Awaji tile ripper
Irakato/Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture (Awaji Island)
Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture is blessed with high-quality soil and is one of the leading producers of roof tiles in Japan.
The handle of the ripper, which is useful for trimming seams and drilling buttonholes, is finished with Awaji tiles.
Among Awaji tiles, ``pottery tiles'' are glazed and fired, adding a smooth texture and luster to the rustic texture of unglazed tiles.
There are two colors: gentle "Shiro" and chic "Mokutan".
Each piece is paired with silk thread and gold thread tassels that match the color of the glaze.
The handle has a rounded square shape. We are particular about the length and thickness to fit women's hands, and it has a comfortable weight.
There is no need to worry about the small stress that can occur during work.
The ripper uses a sharp blade made in Japan, and the cover is made of genuine leather with the Cohana logo engraved on it.
