Small scissors made of lacquer and gold lacquer, vermillion lacquer

These extremely sharp scissors are made by Hasegawa Hamono in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan's leading cutlery towns, and are decorated with lacquer and gold lacquer to give them a noble luster.
You can enjoy the subtle color changes that are unique to natural lacquer, and it develops a beautiful and beautiful luster over time. A calming genuine leather case and gold and silver tassels make these scissors even more glamorous.

The lacquer is done by Ebara Lacquer Works, a company founded in 1970 in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. We mainly lacquer and manufacture Buddhist utensils for temples and homes. Utilizing my experience and knowledge in lacquering Buddhist Buddhist utensils, I repeatedly made prototypes and adjusted colors through trial and error. Tame-nuri is a method of layering transparent lacquer over vermilion lacquer, creating a translucent luster and depth. Vermilion lacquer is painted with vermilion lacquer, which is said to be an auspicious color, creating a dignified calmness amidst its splendor.
The blades of each pair of small scissors are individually adjusted by a craftsman, resulting in a sharp cut. Since the cutting edge is thin, it is easy to use for detailed work, and is recommended for both crafts and handicrafts.

The secret to the pleasant sharpness of the small scissors lies in the final process in which each blade is finished by hand by a craftsman. In the final polishing process, the blade is strengthened using a ``small blade pull'' process to make it less likely to chip, and the edge of the blade is polished using a ``tip pick'' process. Subsequent adjustment of the engagement further improves the precision of the sharpness. These final steps require the craftsman's skill and sense. As shown in the image, the blade edge finished in the final process is made flat due to the "tip pick".

The unique smooth texture of lacquer fits comfortably in your hand, and the more you use it, the more you will love it. By cleaning it with the included cleaning cloth, the luster of the lacquer will be restored and you can use it for a long time.
