A shell button cut from the black-lipped oyster, which is known as a shellfish that grows pearls.

Kawanishi Town in Nara Prefecture is the largest producer of shellfish in Japan, even though it does not have access to the sea.
The six rivers that flow through the town bring shipping from Osaka, and making shellfish has been passed down from generation to generation as an important occupation during the agricultural off-season.
Tomoi was founded in this area in 1913. We continue to respond to orders in the fashion industry, which require advanced technology, with our delicate technology and experience.
