Kokeshi needle minder
Kokeshi workshop tsuN'agaru/Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture
Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture is the birthplace of Tsugaru Kokeshi dolls. This needle minder is as small as the tip of your finger and was created using the outstanding skills of carpenters and painters who make kokeshi dolls. The magnet built into the main body firmly catches the needle.
It is also lightweight, weighing approximately 5g including the magnet on the back, so it is also attractive that the tension of the embroidery fabric held in it will not loosen easily.
What is a needle minder?
A convenient tool to temporarily store your needle when embroidering or sewing. By simply holding the fabric with the included backing magnet, you can easily set it inside the embroidery hoop, which prevents the needle from getting lost, and allows you to smoothly place and pick up the needle while working.
Tsugaru Kokeshi dolls use an advanced technique called ``tsutsukuri'', in which the head and body are carved from a single piece of wood. Among the 12 traditional kokeshi dolls, it has a short history, and has developed into a variety of shapes and colors while incorporating innovative ideas.
The okappa head is one of its features. The colors are bright and each piece is carefully decorated. Kokeshi dolls with innocent and adorable expressions gently accompany you during your needlework time.
With their cuteness that makes you want to arrange them in different colors, this product is easy to recommend for your own collection or as a gift for a loved one.
The adorable expressions of the kokeshi dolls are hand-painted one by one by craftsmen, and each time you look at them, you will feel at ease. A small companion that fits in the palm of your hand will bring a little comfort to your desk.
When lined up next to Cohana's long-loved Tsugaru Kokeshi Kokeshi needle holder, it looks like a parent and child Kokeshi doll lined up, and you can't help but smile.
For those who do embroidery, we also recommend combining it with the Magewappa Tool Box.
The Magewappa Tool Box is made from beautiful cedar from Chizu Town, Tottori Prefecture, and is a product packed with skill and wisdom, combining the main body with an embroidery frame.
The included 15cm embroidery frame can be used by attaching it perfectly to the lid. There is a removable partition inside the tool compartment.
